2018 KSP KTM Myrtleford Alpine Rally is a go! | News

The 2018 edition of the KSP KTM Myrtleford Alpine Rally is locked and loaded as organisers lay the final touches on what’s shaping to be the biggest alpine bash on record!

The best news for punters attending is the 2018 addition of a giveaway bike at this year’s event. All entrants will go in the draw to win a KTM of their choice supplied by KSP KTM Wodonga. The generous donation from the legends at KSP is like being handed $15k and your odds of winning it are far better than any lottery. The Six-Days model is not an option, but any other EXC is!

ADB will be there to capture all the action. We’ll have images and video running across all our platforms, so if you want to be immortalized in the pages of ADB get along! For those who haven’t had the pleasure of tearing up some alpine loam, here are some details to use in your prop to pitch to the minister of finance and reprieve for a wild weekend on the trails:

Where: Trails are on private property and in the Gapsted State Forest.
How much? $155
What do you get for the entry fee? Six-month subscription to ADB, lunch and dinner, T-Shirt, and a ticket to win the giveaway bike!
Are there any other prizes or giveaways? There will be several other prizes which are still being finalized but one that we know is locked in is a GPS/EPIRB (Vic Forest Management) with loads more given away at the huge charity auction at dinner.
What charity do you support? We proudly support ‘Make-A-Wish’ Foundation.
What kind of terrain is it? It’s a combination of steep hill climbs and descents, rocky fire trails and nearly 20km of wicked, soft singletrack.
How many kms? The loop is roughly 70-85km and you can ride it as many times as you want. Gates opens at 9.30am and close at 4.30pm.
What kind of weather can we expect? The ride is in August so you don’t know what you’re going to get! It could be wet, it could be cold, but it won’t be hot. Typically, the track has been damp in the past so expect mud, which means no dust. Yahoo!
What amenities are there?
We have male and female toilets, at the staging area. There’s free camping and hot showers at the presentation/dinner venue.
Are there different loops for beginners and experienced rider? We cater for all riders of any skill level. There are ‘chicken’ and ‘rooster’ options, and there will be an expert panel of support riders continually on track to help.
Do you need rego? You require Vic recreational registration at a minimum.
Do you need insurance? We have our own insurance to cover us and land owners. We will have paramedics on-course all day. Participants have to sign a rider indemnity form and have a registered bike and appropriate licence. We recommend you have ambulance cover. We will call ambulances on the advice of our paramedics.
Will there be a canteen? Meals are included in the entry fee so there’s no need. The coffee van is the only thing you need money for.

What not to bring
• No dogs
