The Dandenong Motorcycle Club knows how to run a motorcycle club and provide top class club facilities because it has had 80 years of practice. In addition to its motocross events, the club caters for off-road, enduro, trail, vintage MX and even classic road racing.
Its motocross track facility is located at Wonthaggi just two hour’s drive from the Melbourne CBD. It’s been designed for national level competition and the club hosts a number of major events throughout the year including the Australian MX Titles, Vic Titles, GCMX series events. The XXXm track has slight undulation with a base of clay and loamy sand making it fast and flowing.
The tack has been designed to generate exciting racing for the professional race series as well as being safe and encouraging riders off all levels to have a go.
For riders who like a bit of air time, the track has three table tops and six ski-jumps which can be taken at your comfortable speed.
During the cooler months, the track retains a softer, loamy surface which roughens up well create to create a number of different lines.
The starting gate is another highlight of the facility. The concrete area can accommodate up to 40 riders.
Despite all of its top class facilities the Dandenong Motorcycle Club’s Wonthaggi track is designed to attract youngsters to the sport. The track caters for the beginner and is well suited to pee wee and junior trail bikes.
On site facilities include a toilet/shower block and a canteen which is open for business on race days and most practice days. The club also recently constructed a first class control tower which is also put to good use during the national events.
One popular feature with the Wonthaggi circuit is the large pit area. Rather than being stuck up the back of the facility, the pit area has a view of almost the entire circuit.

• $100 Single and Family Practice days and Social Riding
