Dean Ferris Finishes Top 10 in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Debut | Latest

Yamaha's Dean Ferris has left a lasting impression on his U.S counterparts after placing 2-14 in his Lucas Oil Pro Motocross debut at High Point.

The current Motul MX Nationals MX1 Points leader started strong in Moto 1 then moved past Monster Energy Kawasaki teammates Eli Tomac and Josh Grant and KTM’s Blake Baggett to claim the lead.

However, Baggett found another gear and after passing Grant would go after Ferris. A small mistake by the Aussie allowed Baggett through for the lead.

Ferris finished second and Grant rounded out the podium.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac fell on lap one and finished 12th but the story was worse for KTM’s Marvin Musquin who finished 16th.

In Moto 2 Ferris managed a 14th place finish. Tomac kept it on two-wheels and won the race ahead of Baggett and Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson.

Baggett won the overall and now leads the point standings. He is the third rider to hold the red plate in four rounds.

Ferris will return to Australia for the remaining rounds of the Motul MX Nationals.
