Tomac wins Monster Cup Million, Reed finishes eighth | News

Monster Energy Kawasaki's Eli Tomac is $1 Million bucks (minus taxes) richer after clinching three main event wins at the Monster Energy Cup Las Vegas.

Tomac had little competition in the first two motos where he grabbed solid starts and gapped the rest of the field to take the wins.

In the third moto, however, it seemed nerves got the better of the Colorado local and a shocking start saw him round the first turn in sixth.

From there Tomac went on the charge and moved up to second place but still needed to pass teammate Joey Savatgy to claim the $1 Million. On the final lap, Savatgy, in his 450 class debut, let his teammate past and Tomac would cross the finish line to become the third rider in history to win the Monster Cup Million.

JGR Suzuki rider Chad Reed finished eighth overall after finishing 9-12-3 in the three motos.
