YZ65 Cup goes off at Ranch MX | News

Young YZ65 riders fronted the start gate for a money-can’t-buy experience at the Ranch MX Nationals on July 14-15 2018.

28 junior bLU cRU riders raced in front of an MX Nationals crowd and enjoyed the full Yamaha victorYZone experience which included advice and guidance from championship winning Yamaha teams and riders.

MX1 Champion Dean Ferris and team mate Dylan Long from CDR Yamaha took the YZ65 pilots on a track walk to show the new junior MX racers the hot lines around the NSW central coast track. All bikes were lined up under the bLU cRU truck awning and CDR team manager Craig Dack hosted a BBQ for parents and riders.

All riders received a commemorative cup and a number plate signed by Yamaha racers – and a heap of Yamaha merchandise was given away.

“The YZ65 Cup was a huge success. We delivered a unique experience to our youngest customers that made for a weekend they will never forget,” says YMA Sales and Marketing Manager Matt Ferry. The next YZ65 Cup will see up to 40 riders front the start gate at Coolum on 11-12 August 2018. Parents enthusiastically praised the event, including Damien Clegg, father of Clay Clegg #63: “This was the best run and organised weekend possible.

The young riders had the opportunity to meet their idols and get up close and personal with the team and riders which is something they will never forget. And it will be remembered when it’s time to update the bikes. The trophies, number plate, signatures, hospitality and everything else from the weekend was excellent. Can’t wait for Coolum to roll around!” he says.

Chris Watson MC’s rider 12-year-old Michael Jones won the overall, with SA YJR rider Wil Carpenter second and Hixson McInnes third. Jones’ dad Jason adds: “What a fabulous concept you guys put together. My boys – and I’m sure all the other riders – thoroughly enjoyed the experience. YZ65 riders mixed with Yamaha champions for the full bLU carpet treatment at Ranch MX Nationals Not many get the chance in this sport to be part of a major team and this experience will be cherished for years to come.
