Hunter Lawrence Battles with Teammate Jeremy Seewer

Australia's Hunter Lawrence is making waves on the world stage as he navigates his way through his rookie MX2 World Championship season. Here he battles his Suzuki teammate in Indonesia.

The Queenslander, who is now based full-time in Europe, has shown a lot of promise in his opening two races on the MXGP circuit. The opening round at Qatar saw him finish 18-6, and if it wasn’t for a mistake in the first moto, he would likely have placed in the top ten overall.

The second round in Indonesia provided extreme conditions, but Lawrence once again showed glimpses of his potential and would have been well placed if not for a few crashes. This video shows him battling his championship contender teammate, Jeremy Seewer. Lawrence pushes Seewer on several occasions, proving that he definitely has the speed ability to keep up with the frontrunners.

Lawrence ended up stuck in the mud with several other riders in the opening moto. It took multiple officials to pull the bike out and when it was all said and done, he was in 24th place. He was better in the second moto, although a series of crashes kept him from breaking into the top ten before the race was red-flagged.

Seewer went onto win the Grand Prix, while Lawrence finished in 23rd place. The series now heads to South America for the GP of Patagonia-Argentina on March 19.
