The news follows Rieju’s reveal of the 2021 MR 300 less than two months after the Spanish firm came to an agreement with Torot group to acquire the GasGas enduro platform, which also includes spare parts for current and old GasGas models.
Rieju will start with a production run of 100 units with each retailing for a limited time only launch price of €7499. After that, the RRP will increase to €8,050, the same retail price as the 2019 Gas Gas EC300.
Specifications for the MR 300 Racing are largely unchanged from the bike we knew as the 2019 Gas Gas EC300. KYB suspension front and rear, FMF muffler, tapered handlebar, steel frame, slim headlight and the engine, right down to the clutch cover, looks the same. A keen eye will notice the axle puller on the front, a feature on the GasGas GP model.
Rieju’s ‘hard off-road’ family will feature three variants and two capacities; 250cc and 300cc. 250cc pricing has not been announced.
MR Racing 250 & 300: Comparable to the former Gas Gas EC.
MR Pro 250 & 300: Comparable to the former Gas Gas GP and will likely feature full FMF exhaust, anodised parts, a custom graphics kit and fork legs with DLC coating.
MR 300 Ranger: Comparable to the former Gas Gas EC 300 Ranger.
The higher-spec Rieju MR 300 PRO and the MR 300 Ranger will be manufactured from September. European prices for these two models has not yet been announced.
An Australian distributor has not been confirmed but Rieju told ADB it is in discussions with a well-established motorcycle distributor who has extensive experience in the Australian market.
