Nominations are now open for the 2026 Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame, with recipients to be inducted at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
The prestigious HOF inducts high achievers from two- and four-wheel racing, honouring individuals whose significant achievements and contributions have helped to shape the sport.
To date, just 99 individuals have been uplifted from 125 years of racing – an average of less than one person a year, since its institution in 2016.
The 2025 motorcycle inductees were International Six Days Enduro heroes Jess Gardiner, Jemma Wilson and Tayla Jones and motocross and supercross icon Chad Reed.
Mick Doohan and Casey Stoner also have Legend status in the HOF, with Stoner elevated in 2025.

John Smailes, Chair of the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame Selection Committee, has been at the helm of the Hall of Fame in recent years and is looking forward to welcoming a new batch of inductees next year.
“The Hall of Fame was instituted in 2016 to preserve the stories, triumphs and innovations that define motorsport’s heritage,” Smailes said.
“Motor racing is one of the few sports in which Australians have consistently reached the top on the world stage.
“Legends such as Sir Jack Brabham, Alan Jones, Wayne Gardner, Mick Doohan and Casey Stoner headline the remarkable Australians who have become world champions and household names.
“The Hall of Fame exists to inspire the next generation of competitors, engineers, officials and fans.”
The Australian Motorsport HOF committee has revised its candidate criteria, with no more than five inductees expected in 2026.
