The 2025 season will stand as one of the greatest in Factory Honda Australia’s history. Across motocross and supercross, the team amassed an incredible seven national championships, each earned through hard work, resilience and world-class performances. Among those standout achievements, Kayd Kingsford’s SX3 Australian Supercross Championship victory was a defining moment, securing Honda’s seventh title of the year and his second championship of 2025.
Coming into this season, Kingsford had never won a national motocross or supercross title. By year’s end, he would hold both.
After convincingly capturing the 2025 MX3 Motocross Championship, the 18-year-old set his focus on completing the rare double by adding the SX3 Supercross crown. The goal was enormous, but Kingsford embraced it with humility, determination, and an eagerness to learn. His willingness to adapt both mentally and technically became a major factor in his success.
A Championship Decided Under Immense Pressure
Kingsford entered round four of the five-round SX3 championship with a commanding 18-point lead. But the sport’s unpredictability came calling: two heavy crashes resulted in a DNF and a hospital visit. Within minutes, his comfortable lead evaporated, and he left the venue trailing by six points.
With only seven days to recover, Kingsford did everything in his power to be ready for the finale. The equation was simple but daunting:
win both races and hope his closest rivals finished behind him.
What followed was one of the most composed and clutch performances of the entire Australian Supercross Championship.
Kingsford topped qualifying, won his heat race, and claimed victory in the first of two finals, regaining the championship lead heading into the last race of the season.
The team established two options for the deciding race:
Plan A: holeshot and win.
Plan B: beat the riders he needed to beat based on points.
Kayd wasn’t interested in Plan B. It was Plan A!
He executed perfectly.
With five wins from seven finals across the season, Kingsford claimed the 2025 SX3 Australian Supercross Championship, completing an extraordinary double and delivering Honda its seventh national title.
He will continue with the team in 2026, stepping up to MX2 and SX2.
“I can’t thank everyone on the team enough. My first championships have come with Honda, both in the same season. I had to learn through my mistakes, and that’s the toughest part, but it made me better. I’m looking forward to next year with Honda and continuing to build,” said Kingsford.
Jet Alsop enjoyed a tremendous year with the Factory Honda Team, finishing 4th overall in the SX3 Championship in his debut supercross season, and securing 2nd place in the MX3 Motocross Championship.
“It’s been an amazing season, so many positives and so much learning. I’m already looking forward to next year,” said Alsop.
