Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP’s Tim Gajser will miss the final two rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship after aggravating a rib injury at the MXGP of Türkiye.
Gajser originally sustained the injury at the Dutch Grand Prix but continued racing, lining up in Afyonkarahisar last weekend despite increasing discomfort. Gajser battled through the pain to finish fourth overall before returning home for further medical assessment.
A specialist examination revealed racing in Türkiye had aggravated the rib injury, prompting Gajser and Yamaha to call time on his 2026 season.
The decision means Gajser will sit out the MXGP of China in Shanghai as well as the season finale in Darwin, Australia, as he focuses on making a full recovery.
