GASGAS Factory racing star Andrea Verona makes it 13 wins out of 14 races in the E2 class for the 2024 EWC season.
Now that’s how you complete a season! GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona has delivered yet another double Enduro2 victory by dominating the class on both days at the seventh and final round of the 2024 FIM EnduroGP World Championship held in France. Placing third and fourth in the hotly contested EnduroGP category, Andrea secured a bronze medal for the season with third overall.
Winning all but two tests in Enduro2, Verona secured the class win on Saturday by well over one minute. A third in the overall EnduroGP category might have dashed his title hopes, but Andrea didn’t back down and came out fighting once again on Sunday.
Verona delivered another nine winning tests in Enduro2 on the second day in Brioude. However, a mistake in the final enduro test cost the EC 350F rider dearly in the overall EnduroGP class, losing him around 20 seconds to his rivals. Narrowly missing the EnduroGP podium on day two in France, Andrea had to settle for third in the 2024 EnduroGP World Championship.
While happy to have dominated the E2 class this season, Andrea was a little disappointed to miss out on the runner-up spot in EnduroGP. Now, he looks ahead to completing the year on a high before working hard over the winter to come back even stronger in 2025.
Verona now shifts his focus to the Italian Enduro Championship and the upcoming FIM International Six Days Enduro, which will be held in Spain from October 14-19.
Andrea Verona: “That’s the final round done here in France and I’m super happy to take the win on both days in Enduro2 to complete an almost perfect year in the class. I gave it my all here, but it just wasn’t quite enough to take the fight to the others in EnduroGP. I’m really disappointed to miss out on second place in the championship as well, especially finishing equal on points. We have some things to work on now, so the team and I will first focus on the ISDE and the Italian championship and then continue testing over the winter break. I plan to come back next season and be even stronger!
