Aussie Riders Confirmed for MXGP | Latest

The 2017 FIM MXGP World Championship gets underway February 25 in Qatar with two Aussie riders confirmed for the 20-round championship.

Hunter Lawrence will make his MX2 class debut for the Stefan Everts lead Suzuki World Team. Lawrence has a number of strong results in the European Championships EMX250 class, including an overall win at Teutschenthal in 2016.

The young Aussie’s 2016 season was cut short when he elected to undergo knee surgery for an ongoing injury.

Lawrence will be riding a Suzuki RM-Z250 with the 96 race number.

Caleb Ward, 20 year-old from Ravenshoe, Queensland, will be riding a 2017 Husqvarna FC250 for the Italian based, 8Biano Racing Team. The young gun will don race number 170 in this year’s MX World Championship and is also set to impress on the back of his 2016 campaign.

At the completion of round one at the Losail track in Qatar, the MXGP moves on to Pangkal Pinang, Indonesia, on 5th March 2017. The lengthy series will finally wind up in the United Kingdom on October 01 2017. The busy race schedule as below;
