The Monster Energy CDR Yamaha team will take a three-rider attack into the AUSX Supercross Championship, starting on October 11 at Redcliffe, in Queensland.
With Jed Beaton still on the sidelines, but recovering well from his broken femur, the CDR Yamaha team will take Aaron Tanti, along with US riders Phil Nicolette and Mitchell Harrison, into the five-round series.
Tanti has worked hard since returning from injury and comes into the championship with a clean bill of health and a good pre-season under his belt. He was able to remain disciplined during his recovery, which allowed him back on the bike earlier than expected, and he has been able to get a solid block of work in as the championship draws closer. He has proven fast and skilled at Supercross and is eagerly awaiting things to get underway for the 2025 series.
“I got back on the bike about a month earlier than expected, so I was able to get the last couple of rounds of ProMX which was good to get the competitive juices flowing again.
Since then, I have been able to transition into supercross and feel like things are coming along nicely.
We are racing the 2026 model YZ450F and testing has gone extremely well as the team were able to fine tune the bike to my liking quickly. Dialling the bike in meant I have just been able to focus on getting my laps in, increasing my speed and fitness and getting plenty of bike time under my belt.
I’m looking forward to finishing the year off strongly and hope the crowds come out to enjoy supercross,” Tanti ends.
Fresh from success in the Canadian Motocross Championships, fan favourite Phil Nicolette returns to Australia to contest the entire series for the CDR Yamaha team.
Nicolette was in Australia last year, when he raced the final round in Melbourne on a 250cc machine for the Yamalube Yamaha team, but this year, he is back on his preferred 450cc bike and ready to do battle with Australia’s best riders.
The outspoken American has a huge fan base, but also the skills to get it done on the track, and has been hard at work back in the USA as he prepares for a big season down under.
“Last year in Australia, I noticed the level of racing was high and the riders are all capable of riding supercross well, so as soon as I agreed to terms with the CDR Yamaha team, it was time to get to work and make sure I was fully prepared for the opening weekend.
I know the CDR Yamaha team do a great job and have worked with them a little in the past, so I’m looking forward to getting back down to Australia and getting started. The team have been in constant contact, and we have a plan to come down early, get some testing done and get used to the conditions before heading to round one.
It’s not long now and I’m excited to get back behind the gate in supercross and race in front of the Australian fans,” Nicolette signs off.
Mitchell Harrison completes the 2025 Monster Energy CDR Yamaha line-up, and his form this season in the US points to the likeable Yank being extremely competitive when he lands on Australian shores.
Having just completed the full 31-city AMA Pro Motocross and Supercross tour, Harrison still has the desire to keep racing, and the opportunity to race with the CDR Yamaha team was too good to refuse.
A consistent top-20 rider in the US, this will be his first trip to Australia, where he hopes to make a name for himself in another part of the world.
“I have only heard great things about the Monster Energy CDR Yamaha Team and that has been my experience already as we prepare for the start of the championship,” Harrison begins.
“They have been a successful team in Australia for a long time, so it was exciting to get the call and be offered the chance to do the complete series with such a professional team.
It’s cool to get to race the Australian Supercross Championship. I know most of the riders in the US follow what happens in Australia and the championship looks like it continues to grow every year with good crowds and big venues.
I’m looking forward to meeting everyone face to face and racing in Australia and can’t wait to get the championship under way,” he ends.
The five round championship kicks off with a double header weekend at Redcliffe in Queensland on October 11 and 12 before moving through Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
