Cooper Webb wins Salt Lake City Supercross Race 2 | News

KTM's Cooper Webb has won the second round of the Salt Lake City AMA Supercross events, Round 12 of the Championship.

Webb beat Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac and Husqvarna’s Zach Osborne to claim his second win of the series.

“It was a great night overall but it was a tough race – the track conditions were definitely tricky and you had to be patient out there,” said Webb after the race. “The whoops were tough, I just committed to my lines from the beginning and it played out pretty well. It was a great night to get a win, these are not easily regained, especially with the top guys up here tonight so I want to soak it in but we’ve got five more rounds to go.”

Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson finished fourth and HRC Honda rider Ken Roczen fifth.

Tomac is still in charge of the championship points standings with a 13-point lead over Roczen in second place and a 29-point lead over Webb in third.

Chad Reed finished 17th in the Main Event after qualifying 16th earlier in the night.

In the 250SX East Coast Main Event Yamaha rider Shane Mcelrath scored his third Main Event win of the season. He beat fellow Yamaha rider Colt Nichols and Honda’s Jeremy Martin.
