Aussie Flat Track racer Tom Drane has been kicking arse in the US and racked up another win in the AMA Flat Track Titles.
Yamaha’s Tom Drane racked up another win at the AMA Flat Track Titles, taking victory in the AFT Single class on board his Estenson Racing YZ450F at the Ventura Short track in California. Drane had to fight his way forward in the main event to burst through the lead in the latter stages and go on to win by just over a second from his championship rival, Kody Kopp. The victory sees him move to second place in the championship, 10 points behind Kopp, but with plenty of racing still to come.**
I had to work hard for that one and try to figure a few things out at the beginning of the race. I started finding better lines and then was able to make up some time and get to the front. I was a bit defensive there for a few laps, but lucky enough to open it up a little in the end and grab the win,” Drane explains.
