Chad Reed found himself in an unfamiliar position on the weekend at St. Louis when the Yamaha rider was blue flagged during the 450 SX Main Event.
Reed was running in 16th place and a lap down on lead riders Eli Tomac and Ryan Dungey at roughly the half-way point of the 450 SX Main Event.
Tomac and Dungey were setting a blistering pace out front and as they approached Reed the blue flag came out. Tomac made quick work of the New South Welshman but the same couldn’t be said for Dungey, who sat behind Reed for over two laps.
Tomac’s lead grew by two seconds and Dungey’s chance to deny the Kawasaki of his fifth straight victory was gone.
