Max, who was this week was named as a reserve rider for the 2017 FIM World Speedway GP, is excited to be giving enduro a go next week. “The fact that it’s taking place in my hometown it’s pretty exciting. I’m really looking forward to it,” Max said.

“Obviously, enduro is not my main discipline, but motocross has been something that I’ve really enjoyed over the years and I have done quite a lot of in my early days so to come out and do enduro will be a bit of fun,” Max said.

“I haven’t done any off-road events before so it’ll be a bit of a learning curve but it will all be about having fun and enjoying Merrijig and my hometown whilst I’m back,” he added.

Aside from Fricke, other big name riders will compete in the A4DE such as the return of Australian stars Josh Green, Daniel Milner, Daniel Sanders and current EnduroGP World Champion Matt Phillips.

The 2016 Yamaha A4DE will start on Monday, November 15, where riders from across the country will have the chance to set-up and walk the track before prologue begins on Tuesday, November 16 where the top 20 riders from last year’s event will start in the top 20 starting order based on their prologue times this year.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, riders will compete in a challenging course approximately 250 kilometres long constructed of trails and tests suitable for all riders before their final moto on Saturday, November 19.

“I’m fortunate enough now that I can get out there and try it so hopefully I can get a bit of practice and preparation in the next few weeks,” Max said. “For me, it’ll just all be about having fun and enjoying it,” he added.
