Honda riders delivered a commanding performance in RD 7 of the ProMX Australian Motocross Championship, claiming every overall race and class win across the four classes and securing the first title of the season.
Reigning MX2 Champion Brodie Connolly led the charge, wrapping up back-to-back championships with a dominant 1-1 finish. With one round remaining, Honda riders now carry the red plate in all classes, positioning themselves for a potential clean sweep of championships.
“It’s been a massive effort from the whole team,” said Connolly. “I’m just so grateful for everything they’ve done. Now I can go into the final round and enjoy it with a little less pressure.”
In the premier MX1 class, Kyle Webster rode smart and calculated to take the overall with 1-3 finishes on a rutted, rain-affected track.
“I rode conservatively and avoided mistakes. I’m still not 100% after my injury before Warwick, so I’m really happy with this result. We’ve got a 16-point lead, but nothing is guaranteed. We’ll stick to our plan,” said Webster.
Teammate Wilson Todd returned to form with a 4-1 scorecard, earning him third overall and his first race win in almost three years after a tough run with injuries.
“It feels good to win a race again and to be on the podium. After the last couple of seasons, you do start to doubt yourself. I’m thankful for the team’s belief in me, and I hope we can do it again next weekend,” said Todd.
MX2 contender Alex Larwood continued his consistent run, finishing 3-4 for equal third in points, narrowly missing the round podium due to countback.
“I was a bit off today. I needed more intensity, but I’m happy with my consistency. One more round to give it everything and hopefully finish on the overall podium,” said Larwood.
In MX3, Kayd Kingsford took a massive step toward his first national championship. After an incredible comeback ride in moto one , which saw him crash in turn one, pit for goggles, and fight from last to fourth, Kingsford bounced back to win moto two convincingly. He now holds a 44-point lead.
Meanwhile, Ride Red Honda’s Jett Alsop claimed his second overall of the season with 1-2 results, elevating him to second in the championship standings.
In the Women’s class, defending champion Charli Cannon secured both race wins and extended her lead ahead of the final round.
“It was tough out there. I made a few too many mistakes early, so I just focused on riding smart and adapting to the conditions,” said Cannon.
Heading into the season finale, Honda holds the championship lead in MX1, MX2, MX3, and Women’s, with momentum firmly on their side.
Team Director Yarrive Konsky remains grounded despite the success.
“We’ve got three championships still to win, and nothing is locked in. We’ll keep giving 100%, stay focused and yes, I’ll stay nervous until the final flag,” said Konsky.
