Honda Australia Motorcycle and Power Equipment has announced a major shift in motorcycle ownership support, launching Australia’s first six-year motorcycle warranty for eligible on-road models. The move effectively triples the previous coverage period and sets a new benchmark for the Australian market.
Under the new program, the standard factory warranty on eligible on-road Honda motorcycles increases from two years to three years. Riders can then unlock an additional three years of extended coverage by completing all scheduled servicing at an authorised Honda dealer, bringing total warranty protection to up to six years with no kilometre limit.
The warranty applies to motorcycles delivered on or after 1 July 2025 and includes no additional cost for the extended coverage. It is also transferable if the motorcycle is sold within the warranty period, ensuring continued coverage for subsequent owners.
Honda’s extended warranty applies across its full on-road range, covering a broad spectrum of motorcycles from entry-level models such as the CB125F and Navi through to high-performance machines like the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, as well as long-distance touring platforms including the Africa Twin, Transalp and Gold Wing. The program is designed to support riders across all experience levels, from new entrants to experienced and long-distance riders.
The extended coverage is tied to regular servicing requirements, with all scheduled maintenance needing to be completed at authorised Honda dealerships using Genuine Honda parts and Pro Honda oils and lubricants in order to maintain eligibility for the full six-year term.
Honda Australia says the initiative reflects its confidence in product reliability and its focus on long-term customer support.
Chris Schultz, General Manager – Powersports and Products at Honda Australia, said the introduction of the warranty represents a significant step for the local industry.
“This is a major step forward for Australian riders. We are proud to be the first motorcycle manufacturer in Australia to offer up to six years of warranty coverage for eligible on-road models. This reflects the confidence we have in our engineering and the value we place on long-term customer support,” Schultz said.
James Greenwood, General Manager – Ownership Experience, said the program also recognises customer loyalty throughout the ownership cycle.
“Our customers might spend hours choosing a Honda motorcycle, but they spend years owning it. Our industry-first six-year warranty enables us to provide long-term peace of mind, genuine Honda support and the freedom to enjoy riding with confidence, while recognising the service loyalty of our customers who care for their Honda,” Greenwood said.
The six-year warranty is available on eligible on-road motorcycles used for private, non-commercial purposes, with full terms, conditions and eligible models available via Honda Australia.
