Justin Brayton confirmed for AUS-X Open Melbourne | News

World Supercross Star Justin Brayton is back for this year’s Monster Energy AUS-X Open Melbourne on November 30 at Marvel Stadium.

The Penrite Honda Racing rider is the first in a whole host of international superstars set to be announced, to compete in the heart of Melbourne on November 30 with the event moving to the iconic AFL stadium in 2019.

After coming agonisingly close to victory in the 2016 and finishing on the podium in the 2017 edition of the Monster Energy AUS-X Open, the world number ten will look to challenge both his Aussie and International rivals at Marvel Stadium this year.

“The AUS-X Open is one of the greatest events outside of the US, and having been so close to winning it before, I’m determined to come back faster and ready to win in November,” said Brayton.

“The racing at Sydney was always incredible but I think moving to Melbourne, into such an awesome stadium, is going to take Supercross racing in Australia to the next level and I can’t wait to put on a show for all the fans in Australia.

“Marvel Stadium will be the closest thing Australia gets to the World Championship. The track will be full-sized and I have no doubt both the racing and the atmosphere will be electric on November 30.”

Brayton had what was undoubtedly his career-best season on board the Honda CRF450R in the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross Championship in the USA with his first career event win, and this year finished inside the top-10 in the world despite missing three events through injury.

The Monster Energy AUS-X Open Melbourne crown won’t be the only thing the American will be chasing down, as the current Australian Supercross Champion, the Honda rider will attempt to secure a record four consecutive Australian titles by once again contesting all rounds of the Australian Supercross Championship with Penrite Honda Racing.

“I’m so pumped to be returning to Australia in 2019 and fighting for the Australian Supercross title for a fourth straight year with Penrite Honda Racing,” Brayton said.

“I have the most amazing team when I head down under to race, and it would be awesome to bring home the trophy again, especially in front of the huge Melbourne crowd.”
