Kevin Williams comments on Luke Clout’s Withdrawal From The 2020 MX Nationals series | News

WEM's Kevin Williams has expressed his disappointment regarding the withdrawal of Luke Clout from the MX1 class in the 2020 MX Nationals.

However, this is also met with an air of excitement for the young Australian’s international career.

“Clearly it is disappointing to see Luke Clout withdraw from the MX Nationals in 2020. Luke’s aggressive and unique riding style always adds excitement and attention whenever he is on the race track. As a long-standing factory team rider and currently the #2 rider in the 2019 MX1 series, he will surely be missed. But with that being said, I totally understand why Yarrive Konsky and the Penrite Honda Team have chosen to keep Luke in the USA to contest the remainder of the West Coast Supercross series. Luke’s performance so far has been incredible and for his future career, this is the right choice to continue in the USA, returning for the Australian Supercross series later this year. I wish Luke and his family all the best”, commented Williams.

With the opening rounds of the 2020 MX Nationals just under two months away, excitement is building as the MX1 class is shaping up to be one of the fiercest battles in recent history. Multi time champion Dean Ferris, riding for the RecoveR8 KTM team, will make his full time return to racing the domestic series, as Todd Waters the defending Champion is back on Husqvarna machinery to retain his #1 plate and do battle with his career long rival Ferris. Kirk Gibbs and Hayden Mellross, team mates at CDR Yamaha Monster Energy will feature heavily into Championship contention, as will the veteran Brett Metcalfe riding for Penrite Honda Factory Racing.

The 2020 MX Nationals season begins on April 4th & 5th at Horsham in Victoria for the opening two rounds of the Championship.
