KIRK GIBBS FOURTH IN 2024 PROMX | Latest | News | Race Reports

GASGAS Racing Team's Kirk Gibbs finishes fourth in the 2024 ProMX Season with a solid third at QMP finale.

Kirk Gibbs has finished the 2024 Australian ProMX Championship on a high after the GASGAS Racing Team rider charged to third overall at Queensland Moto Park’s final round of the 2024 season.
Determined to finish the MX1 series strongly aboard the GASGAS MC 450F, Gibbsy threw down a storming lap during the Top 10 Pole Shootout to record the third-fastest time and just 0.65s off the top spot.

The first moto saw the experienced former national champion do what he does best, putting in an unrelenting ride to work his way through the pack on the way to a hard-fought fourth-place result. But it was the second moto where he clicked another gear, capitalising on a good start, then chasing down some of his closest rivals to take the chequered flag in P2.
The 4-2 scorecard saw Gibbs take his fourth podium of the year and ensured he finished the outdoor championship in a solid fourth place overall, just four points outside of the podium.
Kirk Gibbs: “In the first race I got a bad start, but I pushed through to fifth within a handful of laps and in the end I was credited fourth. My start to the second moto was better and I felt really good, but once I got myself into second I didn’t want to risk it and rode safely to the end. I was happy with that, to walk away and finish on a good note. All in all, I’m happy with my series, and four podiums is the most I’ve had in a while!”
GASGAS Racing Team-supported Ky Woods put in a winning performance to complete the season in MX3, qualifying fastest and then going on to win both motos for the overall victory. Despite missing multiple rounds through injury, he ended the season in sixth position.
