Matt Phillips locks in strong results at EnduroGP of Greece | News

Matt Phillips has locked in another strong weekend of results at the EnduroGP of Greece winning the E2 class on Day 1 and backing that up with a third on Day 2.

Matt Phillips has locked in another strong weekend of results at the EnduroGP of Greece winning the E2 class on Day 1 and backing that up with a third on Day 2.

Phillips’ pace on Day 1 was enough for third overall but it was the Finnish TM E1 class rider Eero Remes who would claim the day’s overall.

Heavy rainfall drenched the course making for an unusually slippery and muddy Greek enduro, where conditions are usually much drier and dustier.

Phillips claimed a convincing win in Enduro 2, placing 44 seconds ahead of Loic Larrieu (Yamaha) with Taylor Robert (KTM) a further five seconds back in third. “It was a good day for me today,” admitted Phillips. “It was really easy to make mistakes, like a lot of the guys did, but I didn’t have too many problems. I got close to the EnduroGP class win but REMES was incredibly fast on the final enduro test. I didn’t want to take any risks and maybe eased off a little too much. But to win Enduro 2 is great.”

Day 2 saw another strong performance by TM rider Eero Remes. The E1 rider navigated the challenging course to claim the overall ahead of Johnny AUBERT from Beta and Yamaha Loic LARRIEU.

Phillips couldn’t repeat his class winning performance from Day 1 and would end Day 2 third in the E2 class. Loic Larrieu took the E2 class win ahead of Taylor Robert.
