Quad Lock Honda has confirmed the signing of American Michael Mosiman for the 2027 season, with the experienced 250cc contender joining the Australian-owned team for a full campaign across AMA Supercross, Pro Motocross and the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX).

The signing represents another significant step in Quad Lock Honda’s expansion in American racing, with increased support from American Honda and the involvement of former professional champion Kevin Windham forming a key part of the team’s plans to challenge for championships.

Mosiman, who turned professional in 2017, brings almost a decade of experience competing in the highly competitive American 250cc class. His career includes an AMA 250SX West main event victory, multiple motocross podiums and a third-place finish in the 2022 Western Regional Supercross Championship, where he recorded five podium finishes.

Despite several injury setbacks throughout his career, Mosiman has continued to demonstrate front-running speed, including two podium finishes and multiple top-five results during the 2026 season, according to team principal Yarrive Konsky.

The American believes the move to Quad Lock Honda will provide the support and resources needed to turn that speed into a consistent championship challenge.

“I’ve watched this team grow and build momentum over the years. They’ve won races in the 250 class and achieved podiums in the 450 class. They seem to have their riders’ backs and do everything in their power to help them achieve their goals,” said Mosiman.

“I want to reach my potential and see how good I can become as an athlete. I pushed to be a part of this program because I believe this is a place where I can progress my skills, develop the motorcycle and put myself in a position to fight for championships. Kevin Windham’s involvement was a big part of that decision, and I’m excited about what we can accomplish together.”

Mosiman’s racing career began in the American amateur motocross ranks, where he competed at the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s and recorded multiple podium finishes before making the transition to professional racing in 2017.

His breakthrough season came in 2022 when he claimed an AMA 250SX West main event victory and finished third in the Western Regional Championship standings after securing five podium finishes.

He has also recorded multiple podium results in AMA Pro Motocross, establishing himself as a regular front-running contender when fit.

However, injuries have interrupted his progress and prevented him from consistently challenging for championships.

Mosiman believes he still has the speed to compete for titles and sees the move to Quad Lock Honda as an opportunity to rebuild consistency and take the next step in his career.

“It’s a brutal sport, and unfortunately injuries are part of it. Setbacks have not been easy but nothing worth doing ever is. I still believe I can win. The setbacks are just going to make the story even better,” Mosiman said.

“I’ve continued to show the speed, and I believe the right people have seen that. Yarrive and Kevin believe in me, and that means a lot. I’m looking forward to getting to work, building consistency and giving myself every opportunity to fight for a championship.”

The signing comes as American Honda strengthens its commitment to satellite racing, with the 250cc category identified as an important part of its long-term rider development strategy.

Quad Lock Honda, which began its program in 2020, has already achieved race victories in the 250cc category and podium finishes in the premier 450cc class.

The team is now looking to build on those results with a more competitive 250cc program, supported by increased manufacturer backing and additional resources.

Jeff Weiner, Assistant Racing Manager for American Honda, welcomed Mosiman’s arrival and believes the experienced rider can deliver results for the team.

“Michael is an extremely talented rider with proven race-winning ability and experience competing at the front of the 250 class. We recognise the importance of supporting competitive teams and riders, and we’re looking forward to seeing what Michael and Quad Lock Honda can achieve together in 2027,” said Weiner.

The increased support from American Honda will be complemented by the involvement of Kevin Windham, whose responsibilities will include rider development, motorcycle testing and improving overall performance.

Windham’s involvement was a significant factor in Mosiman’s decision to join the team, with the American keen to work alongside the former champion as he prepares for the 2027 season.

Quad Lock Honda founder and team principal Yarrive Konsky believes Mosiman has the experience and outright speed required to compete for race wins and championships.

Konsky pointed to Mosiman’s previous Supercross victory, championship results and recent podium finishes as evidence that he remains a serious contender in the 250cc category.

“Michael is one of the most talented riders in the class. His race win, championship result and career performances demonstrate what he can do, he has claimed two podiums this year and many top fives,” said Konsky.

“We’re building a program around winning, not simply participating. American Honda has stepped up its support, Kevin is committed to helping us develop the riders and the team, and we’re putting the right resources in place.

“Michael has the speed and experience. Our job is to give him the environment, equipment and support to convert that potential into consistent results. We believe he can fight for championships, and that’s exactly what we’re working towards.”

The signing continues Quad Lock Honda’s efforts to establish itself as a championship contender in American racing, with the team placing greater emphasis on rider development, testing and technical support.

Mosiman will contest the 2027 AMA Supercross Championship, AMA Pro Motocross Championship and SMX Playoffs aboard the team’s Honda machinery.

With American Honda increasing its support, Windham taking an active role in rider development and Mosiman bringing proven race-winning experience, Quad Lock Honda is targeting a more consistent presence at the front of the 250cc field throughout 2027.

The team has made it clear that its objective is to move beyond occasional podium finishes and establish a program capable of challenging for race victories and championship honours across all three competitions.
