Mitch Evans and Aaron Tanti Injury Update | News

Serco Yamaha’s Mitch Evans and Bulk Nutrients WBR Yamaha’s Aaron Tanti we involved in a horrible accident during SX2 Heat Race 2 on Saturday night at the AUS-X Open.

The two riders crossed paths during the rhythm section and Evans landed on the back of Tanti. Both riders were attended to by Racesafe medical crews and taken off the track for further medical care.

The next morning, Evans and Tanti posted updates to social media. Evans reported he had suffered “fractures in my L2, L3, & L4 and 2 fractures in my pelvis!”, while Tanti said, “so far I’ve found out I’ve fractured my scapular, and my L4 in my back aswell as my hip.”

We wish both riders a speedy recovery!

Had an unfortunate crash last night @ausxopen! Got scans last night which show I have fractures in my L2, L3, & L4 and 2 fractures in my pelvis! Had an unfortunate incident at @ausxopen yesterday night with another rider @mitchevans43, we came together in the heat race and went down pretty hard, spent the last day in Westmead hospital pretty out of it, so far I’ve found out I’ve fractured my scapular, and my L4 in my back aswell as my hip. Big thanks to @racesafe for there help and everyone else for the kind messages.
