New Team set to compete in Australian ProMX with a mission to help improve youth mental health
MotoCoach Elite Racing has officially launched, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Australian motorcycle racing. More than just a race team, MotoCoach Elite Racing enters the sport with a clear mission to build a high-performance rider ecosystem that develops resilient young people. The team’s launch weekend took place on 7–8 February at the Bellbird racetrack, hosted by MacArthur Motorcycle Club. The event brought together riders, crew and partners for comprehensive testing ahead of the 2026 race season. It also provided an opportunity to solidify season plans, strengthen team culture and give riders valuable time together both on and off the track.

The Pro team lineup for 2026 includes Rhys Budd (#22), Cooper Holroyd (#28), Brandon Steel (#23) and Hadley Gainfort (#225). Alongside its professional roster, MotoCoach Elite Racing has established a strong development squad, reinforcing the organisation’s long-term commitment to building depth and sustainability within the sport.
“The Bellbird weekend was about more than testing,” said Leigh Gainfort, owner of MotoCoach Elite Racing. “It was about setting the tone for who we are. We are building an environment where riders feel supported, challenged and connected. Performance matters, but so does the person inside the helmet.”
Building a Rider Ecosystem
MotoCoach Elite Racing is founded on the belief that success in motorcycle racing extends beyond lap times. The team is committed to creating an inclusive ecosystem that supports rider development across coaching, physical preparation, mindset, mentorship and community.
Going further than the traditional race team focus on results, MotoCoach Elite Racing aims to develop athletes who are disciplined and accountable on and off the track. The long-term vision is to establish a clear pathway for young riders to grow within a values-driven environment.
“Our goal is to shape the future of the sport,” Gainfort said. “We want to develop riders who are as grounded as they are confident. By building our own ecosystem, we can create consistency in how riders are coached, supported and prepared for professional competition.”

A Focus on Youth Mental Health
Central to the team’s mission is a dedicated focus on youth mental health within motorcycle racing, a topic often overlooked in high-pressure competition environments.
MotoCoach Elite Racing recognises the emotional and psychological demands placed on young athletes and is determined to foster open conversations, support networks and positive mentorship within the sport.
“Young riders face enormous pressure, from performance expectations to social media and self-doubt,” Gainfort said. “If we want to see long-term success in this industry, we need to make a difference to youth mental health. That starts with building an environment where riders feel safe to speak up, learn from setbacks and grow as people.”
Racing into Gippsland Regionals
With a successful testing weekend behind them, MotoCoach Elite Racing now moves immediately into professional competition at Round 1 of the Gippsland Regionals (GippyMX) in Victoria this weekend.
The fast transition from launch to race-ready illustrates the team’s intent to compete at a high level from day one.
The team also extended its thanks to the MacArthur Motorcycle Club for hosting the launch weekend and acknowledged the support of its sponsors. Their backing has been instrumental in establishing the team for its inaugural season.
As MotoCoach Elite Racing lines up at the gates this weekend, the message is clear: this is a team built on more than horsepower. It is a platform for performance, development and positive change within Australian motorcycle racing.
