The Latvian Grand Prix, the eighth round of the FIM MXGP World Championship, proved to be a demanding test for the riders, concluding a trio of consecutive races for the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory.

On the sand of Kegums, Jago Geerts showed excellent chemistry with his Beta RX450 right from practice. After a difficult start in Race 1 (18th), the Belgian went all out in Race 2: starting 10th, he maintained his pace, battling all the way to the finish line to secure 10th position, his best result of the season. Geerts now sits 18th in the championship: “In the second race I got off to a good start and finished tenth. My first top-ten finish of the season. A great way to end the weekend,” he commented, highlighting the significant step forward.

In the EMX250 class, Brando Rispoli had to battle on tricky terrain: he set the 18th fastest time in qualifying, finishing the two races in 27th and 30th position. “I always struggle on sandy surfaces. I’m not giving up and I’ll give it my all,” said Brando.

It was an unlucky outing for Alexis Fueri: a crash in Race 1 resulted in a dislocated shoulder, forcing the French rider to retire. Now all eyes are on the eagerly awaited Italian GP at Montevarchi!
