Piloting the
MC 250F in the SX2 division as the season takes off this Saturday, October 7, within the Adelaide Entertainment Centre will be young gun Noah Ferguson.
Ferguson enters this year’s AUSX series in fine form after solidifying his place as a consistent front-runner throughout the 2023 season to date, and has been gelling strongly with the team after a strong pre-season, shaping up for the technicalities of supercross competition.
After earning a convincing fifth-place result in last year’s
AUSX championship on debut in the stadiums, this year sees Ferguson enter with a wave of confidence after beginning with a solid base to build upon. A mindset shift for his second supercross campaign has Noah’s sights set on standing on top of the box throughout the three-round championship.
Beginning in South Australia, the series will then move on to McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle for round two of the season on November 11, before concluding with the finale at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, on November 24.
GASGAS Racing Team will solely focus on the SX2 category with Ferguson following a late pre-season injury sustained by teammate Regan Duffy, who had also been preparing for the AUSX championship on his MC 450F within the SX1 ranks.
Kyle Blunden (KTM Group Australia Motorsport Manager): “Australian Supercross is back and we’re heading straight to Adelaide Entertainment Centre, where we’re sure to see close racing at its finest. The team have all done a great job with the MC 250F and Noah’s been putting in the hard yards to ensure he’s as prepared as can be at this weekend’s series opener. Unfortunately, we saw Regan Duffy crash late last week at the tail-end of our testing block during a race bike shakedown and photoshoot day. It was disappointing to see Regan go out that way, however, as a team, we are focusing forward with Noah and achieving success in the SX2 class.”
Noah Ferguson: “Round one of supercross this weekend in Adelaide has arrived fast! I’m stoked to be getting out on-track again and, this being my second year of supercross, I’m feeling much more confident entering the season. The team and I have done some great work leading in and I feel prepared to go out there and put my best foot forward. Three rounds are going to make for intense racing, and starts are going to be key, but all-in-all I can’t wait to get out there and have some fun. The goal is to put ourselves on the box at each round and be in contention to win – I feel I can accomplish these goals and can’t wait for the gates to drop!”
