Possible knee injury for Ferris after MXGP crash | News

Monster Energy Yamaha Factory's Dean Ferris fears he may have suffered a knee injury after his first turn crash in Race 2 of the MXGP of Great Britain.

Ferris placed 15th in Race 1 after qualifying 18th but crashed in the first turn of Race 2 and was unable to continue riding. His final result was 21st overall.

The Yamaha rider will undergo further testing this week. “It was a tough weekend, but I got more comfortable in every session. I thought the last fifteen minutes of the race I found my groove and had some really good lap-times, so I was content with that. In moto two, I went down on the start and I have hurt my knee, so that will need to be assessed.”

Ferris landed a ride on the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory team as a fill-in rider for the injured Romain Febvre. The deal was for three rounds with Febvre expected to return to racing at the MXGP of Lombardia.
