When it comes to sunglasses, Im not just looking for something to block out the sun, I want comfort, clarity, durability, and a fit that actually works when Im out riding, running or just squinting at life. My wife and I recently tested a handful of Oakley sunglasses, including the Actuator SQ, Corridor SQ, Latch Panel, Leadline and Sielo SQ, to find the perfect all-rounders.

For me, the Corridor SQ was the standout winner. Designed with runners in mind, these semi-rimless sunglasses wrap around the eyes beautifully, offering excellent coverage and a wide field of vision without any distractions creeping into my peripherals. Theyre lightweight, comfortable and the Prizm lenses are outstanding in bright conditions, enhancing contrast while keeping glare to a minimum.

Everything was perfect – until I broke an arm. Or I should say my kids broke the arm, so I had to make a switch, and thats when I moved to the Latch Panel.

The Actuator is another solid option, offering great optics and comfort. The O Matter frame is light and durable, and the Unobtainium nose pads and ear socks keep them in place when things get sweaty. But heres the thing: they dont wrap as much as the Corridor, so I can see outside the edges of the frame in my peripherals. Not a dealbreaker, but a noticeable difference after getting used to the seamless fit of the Corridor SQ.

That said, my wife prefers me in the Actuator, probably because they look a bit more “normal” compared to the Corridor, which (in her words) makes me look like Im “heading to a midday rave”.

For my wife, Leadline took the win. She has a smaller face, so oversized frames tend to look a bit much. Leadlines design is lightweight, stylish and fits comfortably, with moulded-in ear socks for all-day wearability. She also likes that theyre hair-friendly, meaning they dont get stuck when pushing them up onto her head (a feature I admittedly never considered with my lack of hair).
