PRODUCT TEST #1 | STATES MX WHEELS | Product Evaluations

ADB's Tech Ed Mat Boyd picks up a set of States MX Wheels to put on the Yamaha YZ450F Long term Test bike.

We got this States MX Wheels so we could keep a good set of tyres on them for racing while the worn tyres stayed on the original wheels for practicing. Right from opening the box they looked the part and when fitted up they really gave the bike a trick factory look.

The rims are made of 7050 T6 alloy and anodized black while the CNC machined hubs are made from 6061 T6 alloy and anodized blue. They spokes are heavy duty stainless and the wheels come assembled so you only have to fit the sprockets and discs using the bolts supplied and then fit up the tyres, rim locks and tubes. The rear hub has twin bearings fitted to the sprocket side to better share the load through the left hand side of the wheel supplied by the driving force of the chain on the sprocket. The alloy wheel spacers are anodised black so they even look trick as well and match the rest of the wheels.

At first appearance these wheels look great. They fitted up perfectly without any fitment issues to note and together with the Pirelli tyres and Pirelli tyre stickers look like they belong on a factory machine. We are going to give these wheels everything we can throw at them, we are going to jump them and race test them and we will come back to you guys with a full report on how they handle it.
