Nine months in and the DeWalt Toughsystem 2.0 DXL is still going strong. After daily use, nothing has broken, bent, or worn out, and it continues to feel like a serious workshop upgrade rather than just a storage unit. The drawers still glide smoothly, the doors close solidly, and the workbench top has held up without a hint of sagging or damage.

We Liked

Build Quality – This thing is built like a tank. After nearly a year of use, the overall construction feels as solid as day one, with no signs of fatigue.

Drawer Slides – Even fully loaded, the drawers move like they’re on rails. No sticking, no grinding, just smooth operation.

Wheels – The wheels have copped plenty of punishment on rough concrete but continue to roll without issue.

Worktop Bench – Having a bench built into your storage is still a game-changer. It’s become the go-to spot for quick jobs and tinkering.

Space & Compartments – With plenty of storage options, the adjustable dividers still keep things organised and easy to reach.

We Didn’t Like

Heavy – At close to 25kg per drawer when fully loaded, the unit is no lightweight. Moving it across uneven surfaces can be a workout.

Dividers Catching – The one ongoing annoyance: screws sometimes sneak under the plastic dividers, popping them up so they hit the roof when you close the drawers. That in turn stops the doors from shutting properly – not a deal breaker, but frustrating when it happens.

Verdict

The DeWalt Toughsystem 2.0 DXL has proven itself after nine months of regular abuse. It’s still smooth, sturdy, and reliable, with only minor gripes around weight and divider movement. For anyone who wants a workshop system that doubles as a workstation, this remains a rock-solid option.
