For six months, I’ve put the Quad Lock Magnetic case and mounts through their paces, integrating them into my daily life across the car, desk and bike. As a longtime Quad Lock fan, I was eager to see how the magnetic option stacked up against the classic turn-and-click system. With promises of quicker mounting, wireless charging and seamless functionality, the magnetic system hasn’t disappointed – though a couple of quirks have surfaced along the way. Here’s how it’s held up in real-world use.
We Liked
– Ease of use: Mounting the phone is effortless. You can almost throw your phone at the mount and it lands perfectly every time thanks to the magnets.
– Pocket-friendly case: The magnetic case is flush at the back, so there’s no annoying protrusion when it’s in your pocket.
– Wireless charging: The magnetic case’s wireless charging capability is a game-changer. My phone stays charged whether it’s mounted in the car or resting on my desk mount.
– Durability: The case has done an exceptional job keeping my phone safe. Even after some big crashes, my phone remains intact, with no broken screens or damage.
We Didn’t Like
– Occasional phone detachment: While the magnets are strong, they sometimes struggle on extremely rough roads. On particularly bumpy terrain, the phone has bounced off the car mount.
– Windshield mount durability: The car windshield mount doesn’t hold up well to heat. On hot days, the mount occasionally falls off the windshield, which can be frustrating during long drives.
Verdict
The Quad Lock Magnetic system is an excellent evolution of an already great product. Its ease of use, pocket-friendly design, wireless charging and protective durability make it a fantastic option for most users. While the occasional detachment on rough roads and heat-induced windshield mount issues are drawbacks, they can be rectified by simply turning and clicking your phone in place using the old-school method and they don’t overshadow the overall convenience and functionality of the system. If you’re after a magnetic mounting solution that can go from your desk to your car to your bike, the Quad Lock Magnetic system is a solid choice.
