After more time in the dirt, sweat and heat, the Shot Core and Shot Iris 2.0 goggles have held up incredibly well. They’ve been bashed, splattered and put through every condition possible, yet nothing has broken, scratched or even fogged up. If anything, they’re proving to be some of the best-value goggles out there. 

WE LIKED 

– No fog: The biggest win with these goggles is their ability to stay clear, no matter the conditions. Fogging just isn’t a thing; I’ve pushed them through slow, technical terrain, sweated buckets, and they refuse to cloud up.

– Vision: The peripheral vision is excellent and looking straight ahead feels just as good – there are no annoying frame obstructions. 

– Durability: This is another major highlight; the lenses still haven’t scratched despite getting blasted with roost and smacked with branches. The foam remains intact and the straps haven’t stretched or lost their grip. The Iris 2.0, with its intake vents, stayed cooler, making it a standout for long, hard rides. 

– Value for money: For what they offer, these goggles are incredibly well priced. They deliver premium-level performance without the ridiculous price tag of some high-end competitors. 

WE DIDN’T LIKE 

– Airflow: While the ventilation is great on the Iris 2.0, the Core struggled a little more with airflow. It wasn’t unbearable, but in hotter, slow-speed conditions, I found myself wanting a bit more airflow. And, after a long hard enduro ride, I had to take them off; not because they fogged up, but simply because my face felt like it was hot. 

VERDICT 

If you want a set of goggles that just work – no fog, no scratches, no nonsense – the Shot Core and Shot Iris 2.0 are hard to beat. The Iris 2.0 edges ahead thanks to better ventilation, but the Core still performs exceptionally well for the price. Both offer outstanding clarity, durability and comfort, and they’re more affordable than many lesser-performing options. For enduro, motocross or trail riding, they’re an absolute win.
