A highly technical Toowoomba round of the 2025 Australian ProMX Championship proved to be a mixed weekend for Raceline Husqvarna Tdub Racing Team, where Todd Waters salvaged a solid moto result with P6 in the final MX1 outing of the afternoon.

After posting the seventh-fastest qualifying time in rain-affected conditions, Waters’ opening race started strongly onboard his Husqvarna FC 450. Rounding the first turn towards the front of the pack, he quickly established himself in P2 and began steadily reeling in the race leader.

At the halfway mark, however, the former national champion crashed heavily and was forced to retire from the race. Despite still feeling the effects of that impact, Waters managed to make it back on track for Moto 2 to finish in sixth position, placing him 12th overall in the penultimate round of the series. He’s currently eighth in the MX1 point-standings.

“I got off to a great start in the first race and felt like my old self,” commented Waters. “I had some good lines and was closing in on the leader until I crashed hard on the big downhill. I went over the bars, the bike landed on me, and then I got hit by another rider. I lined up for the second moto, but my wrist was sore and I wasn’t feeling it, so I just rode within my limits to sixth. The focus now is to get myself healthy before the last round next weekend at QMP.”

In MX2, Jack Kukas struggled to come to terms with the muddy, rutted circuit that caught out most riders over the course of the day. Kukas finished his Toowoomba event with 17-19 results to finish 19th overall, now ranked 17th in the championship.

“It was a tough weekend in the mud at Toowoomba,” reflected Kukas. “I just struggled to find my feet in the mud as I haven’t ridden in those conditions in a long time. It was a tough weekend, unfortunately, and hopefully I can finish the season strongly next weekend.”
