MELTED
TROUBLE
Many modern bikes are now coming with long extended header pipes with no guards on them which makes it really easy to melt things on them when packed away in the trailer or the back of your van while the exhaust is still hot.
TRICK
Let the exhaust cool before you pack your bike away and don’t allow your gear bag to touch the header pipe while it is hot or you’ll end up with a melted gear bag and an exhaust pipe to clean like this guy.

HOLESHOT BOLTS
TROUBLE
The KX450 and KX250 come fitted with alloy Allen head bolts securing the guards in place. These bolts are light but unfortunately weak meaning they shear off and break easily when the fork guard is loaded up from a holeshot device.
TRICK
Change the alloy bolts over to steel bolts which are much stronger and can take the load without breaking.

BLISTERED THUMB
TROUBLE
You’ve just fitted up a new set of grips but now you keep getting blisters on the side of your thumb from rubbing up against the throttle housing.
TRICK
Fit the new grips so there is a gap between the end of the grip and the throttle housing. This way your thumb won’t rub on the throttle housing and give you blisters.
