SWITCH PROTECTION
TROUBLE:
Many modern motorcycles come with map switches mounted on the handlebars. These switches are made from plastic and are mounted in vulnerable positions.
TRICK:
Take some thread tape and wrap it around the handlebar and then tighten the switch over the top of the thread tape. This way if the switch is hit during a crash, the switch will move on the handlebar preventing it from breaking.

TIGHT PLUG CAP
TROUBLE:
Many four stroke spark plug caps are long and thin in shape and extend down into the cylinder head. The rubber on these caps can become dry and cause them to be really difficult to refit.
TRICK:
Soak the plug cap in silicon spray before installing the plug cap. This way the plug cap will slip easily into place. Don’t use Inox as it can cause the rubber to swell over time.

RUSTY PIPE
TROUBLE:
Works pipes are bare metal pipes that look awesome but are susceptible to rusting very easily. You can easily clean them up with some steel wool and Scotch-Brite pads but if not coated they will rust again quickly.
TRICK:
After washing the bike and cleaning up the pipe, give it a good soaking with some WD40 and then wipe up the excess with a clean rag. This will put a coating on the pipe and prevent it from rusting.
