Triumph Motorcycles has announced updates to its 2026 TF 250-X motocross model. The revisions include a new airbox and silencer, updated engine mapping, revised suspension settings, and a new Exedy clutch.

The new airbox and silencer were developed to meet updated FIM and AMA race sound regulations, while also maintaining Triumph’s characteristic engine sound. The ECU has been recalibrated, and the clutch is now a high-performance Exedy unit. The suspension has also been retuned.

Refinements extend to the chassis and servicing layout. The battery tray has been redesigned for improved access, and the Oil Level Sight Glass has been updated to improve visibility.

Cosmetic changes include a new graphics scheme featuring in-mould decals in Triumph Performance Yellow.

These changes follow the TF 250-X’s 2023 debut, developed in collaboration with Ricky Carmichael and Iván Cervantes. Triumph states the bike was designed with a lightweight chassis, KYB suspension, and electronic features tailored to rider input.

Triumph’s Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent said the 2026 updates are based on ongoing development and rider feedback. He cited changes such as the updated engine calibration, new clutch, and revised suspension.

Specifications and Components

The TF 250-X uses a single-cylinder four-stroke engine producing 48 PS at 13,500 rpm. The aluminium chassis is designed to be compact and lightweight.

Engine components include a forged aluminium König piston, Del West titanium valves, diamond-like carbon coatings, lightweight magnesium covers, and a Dell’Orto 44mm throttle body. The Athena ECU features GET Power Assist, which provides launch control and traction control.

An optional MX Tune Pro app enables real-time engine mapping, sensor readouts, and diagnostics. A quickshifter allows clutchless upshifts from 2nd to 5th gear, and the gearbox uses Brembo hydraulics.

The aluminium chassis features a spine frame with twin cradles and a hydroformed swingarm. Suspension consists of KYB 48mm AOS coil forks and a KYB piggyback shock, linked through a race-developed linkage system.

Braking is handled by a Brembo system, with twin 24mm piston front calipers, a 26mm rear caliper, a 260mm Galfer front disc, and a 220mm rear disc.

Wheels are DirtStar 7000 Series aluminium rims with machined hubs, paired with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 mid-soft tyres. Controls include ProTaper ACF carbon core handlebars and ODI half-waffle lock-on grips.

Electronic features include Launch Control (adjustable via handlebar or app), Traction Control, two Engine Maps, a live sensor dashboard, and an Integrated Hour Meter.
