Triumph’s race-proven
TF 250-X has secured a milestone achievement claiming victory in the 250cc 4-Stroke Class at the prestigious 2025 Hattah Desert Race.
The Hattah Desert Race is one of Australia’s most iconic endurance events, blending the high-speed red sands of the outback with a test of physical and mechanical endurance. As a renowned crossover between ProMX and Off-Road disciplines, Hattah attracts a deep field of Motocross, Desert, and Enduro specialists all vying for class and outright honours.
With strategic modifications including revised gearing and an extended-range fuel tank from Safari Tanks, Kean was immediately competitive. Leveraging his ProMX speed and race craft, he delivered a faultless ride to secure his first Hattah class victory and the first-ever Hattah win for Triumph Motorcycles Australia.
“I’m extremely happy to deliver this win for both myself, the Winner Team, and for Triumph Australia,” Kean said.
“ProMX has had its ups and downs this year and, honestly, I didn’t have any expectations coming into Hattah other than to have fun and see what we could do with the modified bike for the desert.
“The team did an incredible job. The bike was super competitive, and we were able to get the win!”
Team regular
Jack Simpson also lined up for the Hattah Desert Race entering under the Winner Motorcycles banner aboard a privateer entry. Having finished third outright in 2024, Simpson returned to the red sands as a genuine contender for the overall win.
After qualifying in second position on Saturday, Simpson ran inside the top five for the majority of Sunday’s gruelling four-hour race. Unfortunately, a late race collision with a tree resulted in a minor hand injury, forcing Simpson to back off the pace. He would eventually cross the line just inside the top 10 – a tough end to what had been a strong showing.
With the team’s maiden desert victory now in the books, attention shifts back to the final two rounds of the 2025 Penrite ProMX Championship. The next gate drop is set for Sunday, July 27, in Toowoomba, QLD, where the Winner Triumph Australia Racing Team looks to continue its momentum and finish the season strong.
Developed from the group-up and entirely by Triumph, in close collaboration with racing champions including Ricky Carmichael and Iván Cervantes, the TF 250-X has the most complete specification package ever to launch into the ultra-competitive 250cc motocross market.
The performance racing powertrain and unique aluminium chassis are ultra-compact and super-light, with all the best components on the market – already fitted out of the crate – result in a class-leading power-to-weight ratio.
With a focused, aggressive style, the TF 250-X is slim, yet bold and will be instantly recognisable on the track with its minimal and lightweight presence and distinctive Triumph Racing Yellow and black graphics scheme.
Triumph dealers will be offering sales, servicing, parts and a new dedicated range of apparel, backed by a mobile-optimised 24/7 online parts supply system, so customers can order for express delivery, straight from the track.
Furthermore, buyers can also save $2000 on Triumph’s flagship motocross model,
the TF 450-RC Ricky Carmichael special edition, which is now priced from $14,995 until September 30, 2025.
Triumph’s off-road range has now expanded to four models with the arrival of the TF 250-E and TF 450-E enduro models, priced from $17,590 and $18,990 rideaway respectively.
