Sunday didn’t quite go to plan for the Italian, however. A boggy section midway through the second cross test caught Andrea out early in the day and cost him almost one minute against his rivals. But true to form, he regrouped, pinned it, and fought his way back up the order to claim P3 in Enduro2 and sixth overall. Not the result he was hoping for, but still plenty of positives to take from a weekend that tested everyone.
Verona now sits second in Enduro2 and third in EnduroGP as the 2025 series gears up for round five in Portugal this September 12-14. Ahead of that, Andrea will take on the iconic 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations, held in Bergamo, Italy, from August 24-29
Andrea Verona: “It’s been a mixed weekend for me in Wales. It started off well on Friday, where I got third in the Super Test, and then on Saturday I had good pace, but made a few too many mistakes, which cost me some time. On Sunday, I put in a really strong first lap, but then on the second cross test, I made a bad line choice and got stuck in a really muddy section. That put me about one minute down on the others, so all I could do was try and fight my way back. I was able to finish third in E2 and sixth overall, which isn’t too bad, but definitely not the result I was hoping for. It’s time now to focus on the Six Days at home in Italy, and after that it’s back to the world championship and finishing the series strong.
