KRT team rider Clement Desalle, previously unbeaten at the Russian venue, crashed in Race 1 while holding down second plane.
Three laps from the finish the rear wheel of Desalle’s Kawasaki KX450 hit a small mound approaching a jump at which point he became a passenger as he was thrown over the bars, sustaining a suspected fracture of both tibia and fibula. He was flown back to Belgium for surgery.
There has been no timeframe given regarding his recovery.
