Gap Creek Moto is a privately owned dirtbike and camping facility located approximately 10 kilometres west of Cunningham’s Gap. An easy and scenic one and a half hour drive from Brisbane, two hours from the Gold Coast, 30 minutes east of Warwick, and around an hour from both Toowoomba and Stanthorpe.
The facility features two senior, two junior, and one mixed moto track on a vast 650 acres, with about 20 kilometres of trails and enduro loops to cater to riders of all skill levels. The tracks range from hard pack surfaces suitable for beginners with entry-level jumps, to advanced tracks featuring large jumps and technical sections. For full-size bikes, there are two MX tracks: the Step Up track and the Next Level track. The Step Up track, located close to the campground, is short but includes challenging tabletops and a step up. The Next Level track is on the southern side of the property and spans approximately 2 kilometres, featuring huge jumps, dusty sections, and technical turns.
Enduro riders can explore directionally marked trails and enduro loops throughout the hill country, covering about 20 kilometres, along with a few small practice tabletops on the southern end of the property and marked trails and hill climbs ranging from easy to extreme on the northern side.
Large, well-maintained camping areas are situated around a picturesque, seasonal creek with a central amenities block for convenience. Bookings are essential for camping, and can be made using the online booking system found on the homepage or under the ‘book now’ tab. A deposit is required to secure a site. All first-time campers must arrive to check in by 6 PM.
There is a central amenities block for all visitors with hot showers and clean toilets. All sites have a fire ring, and firewood is available for purchase at the office. Gap Creek Moto is pet-friendly, and well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
Gap Creek Moto opens every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as on selected Queensland public holidays. Opening hours are from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Sundays and public holidays. For detailed information regarding opening hours during school holidays, visitors are encouraged to check the facility’s social media, Facebook, or booking system, weather permitting.
Shop offerings at Gap Creek Moto include spare parts such as tubes, levers, plugs, and oils, as well as moto merchandise like gloves, jerseys, pants, and goggles. Ice, chips, cold drinks, ice creams, marshmallows, and firewood are also available from the shop. All payments can be made in cash or by EFTPOS.
