Helder Rodrigues was the eighth fastest rider in the prologue, while Alessandro Botturi ninth quickest. Today’s opening stage was topped by Yamaha WR450F mounted rider Xavier de Soultrait.
Successfully completing a long testing session in the morning, Eric de Seynes and Camelia Liparoti drove a great prologue on the Yamaha YXZ1000R machine. Posting the fastest time in the side-by-side class, the Yamaha duo also placed 37th in the overall classification.
Stage one of the 2016 Sardinia Rally will see competitors complete a 270km circular route starting and ending in the city of Budoni. It will be the first long stage of this 1,300km adventure in the heart of the Italian island.
