LONG TERM TEST #4 | SHERCO 300 SEF FACTORY | Latest | News

Sand hills or grasstrack it's all the same to the Sherco 300 SEF Factory. Our Enduro Ed Geoff Braico tells us how it's going.

Three months into my time with the 2024 Sherco 300 SEF Factory and I’m enjoying it more every time I ride it. I’ve tried hard to ride at least once a week since taking delivery of it and so far, there isn’t much to complain about. It is a super easy bike to ride, and it’s been solid on a bunch of different tracks and terrain.

One of the trips involved a day on the sand dunes on the coast and anyone who has ridden deep sand knows that a strong, powerful engine is your friend. I was a little nervous to take the Sherco 300 SEF Factory out on the dunes as I haven’t been anywhere yet on it where you have to be wide open for a long period of time. It is quite hard on bikes out in the sand dunes, so I rode pretty cautiously all day and to my surprise, the Sherco 300 SEF Factory was happy to have its little heart revved out.

I wasn’t out there cutting 45 minute motos WFO, but in the short stints that I did ride it flat out, I had a blast. The sand on the day we rode was very dry and zapped a lot of power out of the bike, however I still found the 300 had enough get up and go to keep me happy. The KYB suspension while soft for the sand whoops was still predictable and I didn’t have too many ‘oh shit’ moments.

And thanks to Mother Nature the following weekend we had a deluge of rain, and we were greeted with prime conditions. A few of us decided to go and shred a picturesque piece of property near Lithgow with a brilliant grass track and I reckon this is what the Sherco 300 SEF Factory is built for. Damn it was fun blasting around the paddock hitting epic ruts and berms and it really was a reminder of why we ride dirt bikes.

As far as mods or servicing to the Sherco 300 SEF Factory during my short stint so far, it’s been pretty standard stuff. I threw some fresh Motul oil in the bike after five or so hours and I’ve been keeping the Uni Filter air filters clean and oiled to keep it breathing fresh air. I’m keen to throw a new set of Holeshot Graphics on the bike ASAP and some new Pirelli tyres too. All in all, it’s been a fun three months so far and now I’m setting my sights on doing a few races on the beast in the near future.
