WHY DID YOU BUY IT?
I was midway through my first year of motocross racing and was quickly outgrowing my KTM 50 SX, so we were on the hunt for a 65cc bike.
Being a mechanic, Dad wanted me to have something reliable, so we contacted WBR and after talking to them and seeing how great their service was, Mum and Dad bought me a 2023 YZ65.
Then at the end of last year, we purchased this bike for the 2025 race season.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO IT?
The suspension on this bike has been upgraded using springs and a Krooztune kit and is set up just for me and my weight. This makes the ride smoother and easier to adjust.
We changed the stock exhaust to a complete Pro Circuit exhaust to give me more power in the mid- to top-end, and it looks sick!
We’ve also updated to V-Force reeds to give me better throttle response.
WBR has jetted and tuned the bike to make sure it runs at its absolute best.
Since picking up the bike we’ve added Pro Taper handlebars and grips, black SM Pro wheels, a holeshot device, Strike grip seat cover, frame protectors, Unbreakable levers, full black plastics and a sticker kit from MX Ink.
HOW DOES IT GO?
The bike absolutely rips! It’s crisp and sounds unreal. The suspension is so smooth and makes rough tracks a breeze to ride.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND BUYING ONE?
Yes, definitely. It’s a great bike to learn on, very affordable, tough and reliable.
Being a Yamaha you won’t need many spare parts.

1) I was coached by Dean Wilson when he was in Melbourne for AUSX last year.
2) My first ever race win was on this bike.
3) My favourite track is Warrnambool.
4) I also like downhill mountain biking.
