Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona has claimed his first outright individual victory at the 2026 6DAYS FIM Enduro of Nations in Portugal, defeating teammate Josep García by 41.56 seconds after six days of racing.

The reigning Enduro2 World Champion also secured the Enduro2 class victory and helped Italy defend its World Trophy title at the centenary edition of the event.

Riding the KTM 450 EXC-F, Verona established an early advantage on Day One, finishing almost 30 seconds ahead of García. The Italian maintained his consistency throughout the week, placing second on Days Two, Three and Four before slipping to third on Day Five.

He entered the final day’s motocross test with the overall victory within reach and finished second in the race, securing his maiden individual 6DAYS title with a total time of 3:02:33.55.

“It’s the end of day six and I’m really happy! I’ve won my first individual 6DAYS title, which is an amazing feeling, and we’ve also won both the World Trophy and Junior World Trophy with Team Italy, so it’s been an incredible event for all of us,” said Verona.

“The final motocross test went well. I got a good start and settled into second place, which was enough to secure the overall victory. I’m really happy with how everything went and especially with the final result. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved, especially Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Team Italy for all their hard work and support throughout the week. It’s been an amazing 6DAYS!”

García’s winning streak ends at five

García arrived in Portugal chasing a record-extending sixth consecutive outright individual 6DAYS victory, but his opening-day deficit ultimately proved costly.

The Spaniard responded by winning Days Two, Three and Four before finishing second on Day Five, reducing Verona’s advantage to less than 10 seconds heading into the final day.

However, García struggled with the heat during the Final Cross Test and finished eighth, allowing Verona to extend his winning margin to 41.56 seconds.

Despite missing out on the outright victory, García secured the Enduro1 class title and helped Spain finish fifth in the World Trophy standings.

“The 6DAYS is done and Team Spain finished fifth overall, while I was second in the individual classification. As always, I gave it everything I had, but just came up short of victory,” said García.

“The heat made things more difficult today and I suffered a little bit out there, but I gave it my best. I’m really proud of myself and the whole team for what we’ve achieved. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the week.”

France’s Zach Pichon (TM MOTO) completed the outright individual podium, with American Grant Davis (KTM) fourth and Italy’s Morgan Lesiardo (Triumph) fifth.

KTM wins Manufacturers’ Team Award

Verona’s victory was part of a successful event for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, which also claimed the Manufacturers’ Team Award through Verona, García and American Grant Davis.

Davis finished fourth outright and third in Enduro2, while García and Verona won their respective classes.

Italy’s World Trophy squad of Verona, Lesiardo, Samuele Bernardini and Matteo Cavallo secured victory ahead of France and Sweden.

Italy also claimed the Junior World Trophy, finishing ahead of the United States and Spain.

In the Women’s World Trophy, FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Brandy Richards helped the United States claim a record seventh victory alongside Korie Steede and Rachel Gutish.

The Americans finished nine minutes and 23 seconds ahead of Australia, with France third.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Enduro Team Manager Fabio Farioli praised both Verona and García following their battle for the individual title.

“It’s been an amazing 6DAYS. Both riders have fought hard since the very first day, and I have to congratulate them because they’ve both ridden incredibly well. When you have two riders fighting for the overall victory, with one finishing first and the other second, naturally one is happier than the other, and I’m really proud of both of them.”

Farioli also acknowledged the difficult conditions, including dust and organisational issues, and credited the team’s preparation for its results.

“For KTM to also take victory in the Manufacturer’s Team Award is fantastic. We’ve shown incredible strength throughout the event, and the results are a reflection of all the hard work that has gone into preparing for this race.”

The 2027 6DAYS FIM Enduro of Nations will be held in Wales, Great Britain, from 13–18 September.
