Chad Reed Retires! 2020 confirmed as final year racing full-time | News

Chad Reed revealed in the pre-race press conference for AUS-X Open Melbourne that the event will be his final race in Australia as a factory-backed rider.

“Mountain Motorsports has been amazing in supports has been amazing with supporting everything that I’ve been doing lately. The goal is to go racing and I feel confident we can make that work,” said Chad Reed

“I’m excited, 2020 will be my final season.”

“I love dirtbikes, that’s what kept me in it this long. This will be my final race in Australia as a full-time racer but my goal is to do off-season races.”

Reed then followed this up with an Instagram post in which he confirmed 2020 will be his final year of professional dirtbike racing.

“I’m excited for today’s @sxopensupercross race in the amazing @marvelstadium.au in @visitmelbourne. I’ve long dreamed of Australian SX to be in this setting. Tonight will be my final SX race in Australia as a full-time professional racer. 2020 will complete my Motorcycle racing career. So here’s to a great night.”

Reed finished fifth overall on Saturday night after placing 2-7-5 in the triple-crown format.
