JONTE REYNDERS GETS FIRST WIN OF 2024 AORC | Latest | News | Race Reports

Motul Pirelli Sherco rider Jonte Reynders got his first win of the 2024 AORC in Kingston SE, South Australia.

Sherco’s Jonte Reynders was on fire at the penultimate rounds of the 2024 AORC kicked off on Saturday with a gruelling three-hour cross-country race. The course, known for its super tight, technical, and sandy tracks, was further challenged by overnight rainfall, creating prime but tricky racing conditions.

Team rider Jonte Reynders faced an uphill battle as he struggled to find his rhythm on the demanding 2024 AORC track. A crash early in the race, which resulted in him hitting his head, forced him to settle for third place. Despite this setback, Reynders remained determined, clocking a total time of 3:04:44.961.

Sunday’s round returned to the regular Sprint format, with competitors racing against the clock to complete the course before inclement weather set in, and the day proved to be a game-changer for Reynders, who delivered a sensational performance to secure his first win of the 2024 season.

Finishing the day with a total time of 1:00:21.628. This victory marks a significant milestone in his championship campaign, as he continues to close in on the E2 Championship leader, Daniel Milner, now trailing by just 26 points.

“Round 10 was brutal,” said Reynders after his win. “After a tough day yesterday, I’m definitely feeling it. To get our first win of the season is fantastic, and I’m just stoked! The tracks had super deep sand that got really choppy. You couldn’t really get off the main line, and I found it difficult to find my flow. So to come away with the win has been really special. I hope Milner is okay after a nasty get-off, and I wish him a quick recovery. Hopefully, we see him at the final rounds.”

With only two rounds remaining in the 2024 AORC season, the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team heads to Nowra, New South Wales, on September 14-15, for what promises to be an epic season finale.
