After having the Sherco 300 SEF Factory for another month and now doing two races, I’m starting to really learn this bike. The bike itself has been really reliable and I haven’t had a problem with it at all, and have only really had to do oil and air filters so far.
Coming away from Dungog’s round three for the AEC, I made a gearing change which worked really, really well in the bush, which I’ll leave on the bike, now being a 13 front, 50 rear sprocket setup. I’m also going to get the exhaust spark arrestor off Matt at Sherco and put that back in to see how it might smooth out the power a little for tighter tests and just to try something different. The only other thing I plan on changing is just the suspension a little softer at the slowest speeds at Dungog. It really beat me up compared to how nice it felt at Roma at the highest speeds. In saying that, Dungog was a beast of its own, being that it was one-foot bull dust with ankle-deep ruts for 30 to 50m at times.

Next month, I plan to just do a bit of trail riding on it and have a play with some suspension settings with the boys at Shock Treatment. Aside from that, I have no real changes I plan to make on the bike anymore, maybe just some sag settings, and yeah, the bike has been awesome.
I’m really looking forward to racing QMP and getting some more time on the bike in between races, since I couldn’t ride last month due to a knee injury. The bike has been a pleasure so far, and I can’t wait to see you all at rounds five and six.
