After six months of rigorous use, it’s time to update you on how the Fox YTH 360 Streak Gear is going. When you buy gear for your kids, you want it to stand the test of time, so you can hand it down to their siblings and this kit has done just that. We’ve put it through its paces with daily use and six months later, the gear is in such great condition that it’s practically ready for a hand-me-down.
WHAT WE LIKED
Durability: Not a single thing has broken on these boots. The buckles are still in perfect working order, and the soles have held up against all sorts of punishment. The boots look like they’ve got several years of wear in them at least.
Comfort: The boots have continued to impress with their comfort. Despite long hours and rough rides, they still fit perfectly and are as comfortable as the first time Jax used them.
Helmet feel: The Fox helmet is incredibly comfortable, breathable, and well-fitted, the helmet has been a winner. It never felt overly hot or stuffy for Jax, even during longer rides, and didn’t cause any pressure points — something you don’t always expect with kids’ helmets.
Goggles: These goggles have been flawless. Not once have they fogged up, which is a rarity, especially when Jax is sitting around with them on, waiting for me to fix something he has broken. They’re still as clear as ever.
Gloves: The gloves have shown zero signs of wear, despite being used nearly every day. No holes, no worn-through palms — just solid, reliable gear.
Perfect for Hand-Me-Downs: After half a year, everything is in such great shape that it could easily be passed down to a younger sibling or friend. This is the kind of durability you hope for when investing in kid’s gear.
WHAT WE DIDN’T LIKE
Helmet Theft: Unfortunately, the only negative in this time was losing the helmet to theft, which is a bit of a blow. It’s always a pain to replace something that was working perfectly, but that brings us to the next point.
Price: This gear doesn’t come cheap, which can be tough when kids grow out of it quickly. While the durability justifies the cost, it still stings to have to replace gear due to either theft or outgrowing it too soon. You’re left wondering how long before the next replacement is due.
VERDICT
After six months, this gear has exceeded expectations in almost every category. From comfort to durability, it’s performed exceptionally well with no signs of giving out anytime soon. If you’re after high-quality kit for your little rider that will last and can be passed down, this is the way to go. The price is steep, but with this level of durability, you definitely get what you pay for. The only frustration is that kids grow up fast, so budget accordingly.
But overall, it’s been worth every penny, and it’s safe to say this gear could easily last another six months or more.
